On Monday, Palm Beach County marked the grand opening of its new Youth & Family Counseling (YFC) West Office to strengthen support for youth and families. The ceremony also honored Mrs. Clara Hessing, highlighting both community care and individual commitment, according to Palm Beach County's news release.

Honoring Mrs. Hessing's 34 years of steadfast service, the event included the dedication of The Clara Hessing Conference Room, carved out in the new facility. Having retired on August 31, 2021, Hessing's outreach went beyond the walls of the now-honored conference room, frequently making home visits and meeting community members wherever they were — at schools, workplaces, even local coffee shops.

YFC aims to provide free therapeutic services for youth and families in Palm Beach County, specifically for those with children up to 22 years old. The program offers family and individual therapy, parent education, and school-based mental health services in English, Spanish, and Creole. With over 30 years of commitment to a community-based approach, YFC strives to build a resilient and well-supported youth community.

YFC has expanded to several locations across the county, including the new West Office in Belle Glade. The department aims to build a supportive environment for the region's youth and families, promoting personal growth and mental well-being through accessible options, including both virtual and in-person sessions.

The community is encouraged to visit the new YFC West Office at 38754 State Road 80, Belle Glade, FL 33430.
