Mark your calendars for a day of reflection and community in Pembroke Pines. The city is set to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a special observance taking place on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 10 am to 12 pm, located at the Charles F. Dodge City Center. This event promises an inspiring morning with poetry, speeches, and performances dedicated to the civil rights leader's enduring vision. According to the City of Pembroke Pines, attendees will also get to hear from the talented winners of the Student Poetry Contest.
The memorial is shaping up to be a culturally rich event with local officials in attendance to pay homage to Dr. King, joined by local dancers and performers who will add their artistic expressions to the proceedings. Making a special appearance will be “The Voices of Liberty” from Spirit Life Ministries who are scheduled to perform, which should bring a harmonious note to the celebration from 11 am to noon.
It's not just about performances—those who arrive can enjoy a 'RISE and SHINE' light breakfast, fostering an atmosphere of kindness, acceptance, and compassion among community members. Pembroke Pines is extending an invitation to all ages to come together and participate in this event that not only reminds us of Dr. King's dream but also encourages unity within the community.
