Hey, Plymouth parents and little soccer stars, your winter break just got more exciting with a chance to showcase your skills at the Winter Cup Youth Soccer Tournament. No need to hang up the cleats just because it's cold outside; the Plymouth Community Center Fieldhouse dome has you covered literally. This indoor soccer extravaganza, happening Dec. 26-27, is open to U10 and U12 teams itching to keep the ball rolling during the school hiatus.
Young athletes born in 2015-2016 can compete in the U10 division, while those born in 2013-2014 will grace the field in the U12 category. There's a spot for girls and boys alike with both 7 vs. 7 and 8 vs. 8 matches on the roster. And here's the kicker: each team is guaranteed four games, so there's plenty of playtime to go around. Spaces are limited, though—only four teams per division—so best to act fast. Gather your squad of up to 14 players and get ready to register.
Teams can register for the following divisions, as listed on their website Plymouth's Winter Cup Youth Soccer Tournament:
- Girls – U10 (7 vs. 7)
- Boys – U10 (7 vs. 7)
- Girls – U12 (8 vs. 8)
- Boys – U12 (8 vs. 8)
Register your team—and not as individual players—for a competitive fee of $325. It may sound steep, but it's a small price for a hearty dose of team spirit and healthy competition. Deadline for registration is Friday, Dec. 6, so mark your calendars.
For those looking to get the lowdown on more specifics or to secure a spot for your team, head on over to the official registration page. Get ahead of the game and don't let the winter cold freeze up your soccer plans. It's time to heat things up at the Plymouth Community Center Fieldhouse dome this December.
