
In a sobering turn of events, first responders found themselves requiring urgent care after a fire rescue truck from Pompano Beach Fire Rescue collided with a landscaping vehicle yesterday. The crash, which occurred at the crossroads of Northwest 31st Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Pompano Beach, resulted in multiple injuries and significant vehicle damage. NBC Miami reported the incident led to the hospitalization of three paramedics and the patient they were transporting, and one person from the white truck, who sustained injuries from the crash.
The collision happened during rush hour, causing a shutdown of the intersection for several hours as emergency services attended to the scene and a crane and flatbeds arrived to haul away the wreckage of the heavy-duty vehicles, the three firefighters, and a patient from the fire truck were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, as detailed by Local 10.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the incident or the condition of the injured parties involved. The roads were closed to facilitate the inquiry into the collision, according to the reports by NBC Miami.
