In an ongoing effort, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is persistently searching for Susan Lane-Fournier, who remains missing in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Lane-Fournier, a 61-year-old resident of Brightwood, was last known to be hiking with her two Malinois-mix dogs along the Green Canyon Way Trail south of Welches. Concerns arose after she did not arrive at work, prompting her employer to contact the authorities last Friday.

Deputies attempted contact at Ms. Lane-Fournier’s home but to no avail. Following an alert from the community, her white 1992 Ford F-250 was parked near the trailhead. According to a statement from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, the search operation involves a collaboration of volunteers from Clackamas Search and Rescue (CSAR), Portland Mountain Rescue (PMR), Mountain Wave Emergency Communications, and Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue (PNWSAR), employing the aid of two trailing K9 teams as well as over two dozen ground searchers.

As the search intensified on Sunday, resources and personnel continued to comb the area with steadfast dedication. The efforts are expected to advance with additional support commencing until yesterday morning. Keeping the communication lines open, deputies regularly contact Ms. Lane-Fournier's family.

Lane-Fournier, also known as "Phoenix," is a 5'2", 150-pound woman with reddish-brown hair. She is familiar with the Mt. Hood trails, but concerns are growing due to cold, rainy weather in the area, with temperatures dropping into the 30s. It's unclear if she is prepared for an overnight stay. The sheriff's office urges anyone with information to help in the search.
