A 75-year-old woman became a victim of a sexual assault in her own home in 4S Ranch, and now the suspected assailant faces charges. The incident unfolded on Thursday morning when, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, a man approached the elderly resident to offer services for her dogs. What began as an unsolicited offer escalated into the man being invited into the woman's home, where he sexually assaulted her.
The attack was disrupted by the victim's caretaker, who walked in during the assault, causing the suspect to flee. A swift investigation by the Sheriff's Deputies from the 4S Ranch Sheriff's Substation and the Sheriff's Fraud/Elder Abuse Unit led to the identification of the suspect as Tony Choi, born April 8, 1972. Within hours of the attack, Choi was apprehended as he returned to his Solana Beach residence in the vehicle reportedly used in his hasty departure from the scene of the crime.
Choi's arrest took place later that same day, mere hours after the ordeal. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility, with charges of sexual assault and elder abuse levied against him.
