A 14-year-old boy lost his life days after a vehicle collision while riding an unregistered dirt bike in Palm Beach Gardens. CBS12 reported that the crash occurred last Wednesday, around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hood Road and Eastpointe Boulevard. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the teenager was headed westbound when a Toyota Tacoma going east attempted a left turn onto Eastpointe Boulevard, colliding with the dirt bike.
The driver of the Toyota, involved in the deadly intersection clash, stopped immediately after the crash. Emergency responders swiftly transported the injured teen, later identified as Steven Aristizabal, to Saint Mary's Medical Center, according to WPBF. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the young rider succumbed to his injuries five days post-collision.
The details surrounding the crash are still under investigation. Still, early reports suggest that both vehicles entered the intersection simultaneously, with the dirt bike and the Tacoma colliding at the front ends. The Sheriff's Office has not shared more details about the driver's actions or the dirt bike's registration at the time of the accident.
