A three-vehicle collision on I-24 East near the Bell Road exit in Antioch early Sunday morning has led to critical injuries for a female passenger and resulted in two arrests. Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) detailed that the incident, which was reported just after 2 a.m., involved a Honda Accord and a white panel van engaging in aggressive driving behavior before a crash that also entangled a Mazda SUV.

Authorities have charged 45-year-old Yimer Vileno of Murfreesboro with aggravated assault, vehicular assault, an open container violation, and the offense of driving without insurance, as WKRN reports. Vileno, who was driving the Honda Accord with an unbelted female passenger, allegedly struck the van and subsequently the Mazda. The passenger, unidentified in the reports, sustained life-threatening injuries.

Following the collision, the Mazda driver, identified by police as 25-year-old Nilubon Wiphawachart of Nashville, was arrested for driving under the influence after being found impaired at the scene, according to FOX 17. The white panel van implicated in the crash is reported to have fled and is currently sought by the authorities. It is described as having rear-end damage and broken back windows.

MNPD has reached out to the community, asking for any information that may lead to locating the van and its driver. "Anyone with information about it and/or the driver is asked to contact Crime Stoppers," police stated, as per WSMV. Crime Stoppers can be contacted at 615-742-7463 for any leads or tips regarding the incident and the whereabouts of the white panel van.
