Two individuals found themselves in dire straits yesterday when the boat they were aboard began to unexpectedly fill with water near the Lake Worth Inlet. The two were safely rescued thanks to the prompt actions of the U.S. Coast Guard. The distressed 22-foot vessel was reportedly close to sinking when the rescue team intervened, according to CBS12.
The operation unfolded in the proximity of the Palm Beach County waterway. Once the individuals were safely off the sinking boat, they were transported to the Riviera Beach Inlet, as confirmed by the Southeast U.S. Coast Guard.
Post-rescue protocols were followed as usual, wherein the individuals involved in the incident were examined by EMS upon reaching the shore. Fortunately, they were cleared with no significant injuries reported. This was corroborated by the information shared by WPBF. The boat was subsequently removed by commercial salvage, further mitigating potential risks in the busy inlet.
