Two individuals have been detained following a police pursuit that crossed from Utah into Wyoming, ending with the arrest of a man and a woman now housed inside Uinta County Jail. As reported by FOX13, the incident took place on Friday after a sheriff's deputy from Daggett County recognized the suspects' Chevrolet Silverado, equipped with a fraudulent license plate, from an earlier traffic stop on State Route 43 in Manila.
According to KSL, the confrontation escalated when the deputy attempted a routine traffic inquiry, the male driver identified as Stringer reportedly said, "We are not going to do this again" and subsequently ignored further questioning and drove away setting off the pursuit that would end beyond Utah's borders, his refusal to cooperate instigating the subsequent police action that resulted in the headline-grabbing chase.
Upon the vehicle's search, authorities discovered both marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as a loaded firearm situated on the driver’s side of the floor, as detailed by KSLTV. Stringer, alongside his passenger, Brittany Stephenson, 41, were taken to the Uinta County jail with charges pending as the legal process plays its course through the states' judicial systems.
