Vice Chairman Anthony Rodriguez is positioned to embrace this very spirit through a Thanksgiving food distribution event that will be based in Tropical Park. Come November 22, 2024, starting at 9 a.m., residents can attend the drive-thru distribution to receive holiday sustenance. The guiding message: come early, for the giveaway will last only as long as the inventory does.
The Vice Chairman’s office partnered with the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida and Farm Share, a collaboration that enhances food accessibility. The Miccosukee Tribe’s donation of frozen turkeys is a significant boost for those who might otherwise face scarcity. "Residents will be served on a first come, first served basis," according to the county's announcement.
The distribution, open to all residents, reinforces the idea that no one in the community should have to forgo the comfort of a holiday meal.
