
A Wilsonville man has been arrested in connection with his father's death following an investigation by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were called to a residence in the 35000 block of S. Ellis Road on Sunday morning after reports of a suspicious circumstance. Upon arrival, they discovered 70-year-old Michael James McCann of Molalla with multiple gunshot wounds outside his home.
Sheriff’s Office detectives detained and eventually arrested Michael Morris McCann, the 34-year-old son of the victim, early Sunday morning. The younger McCann was taken into custody by the Clackamas County SWAT Team at his apartment in Wilsonville and now faces charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, as reported by Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect is currently being held without bail at the Clackamas County Jail. The ongoing investigation is calling for the public's assistance, asking anyone with information to contribute by reaching out to their tip line. The Sheriff's Office underscored the collaborative efforts in response to this incident, including assistance from the Molalla Police Department, the Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office, and the Molalla Fire Department.
