A fatal incident occurred on Interstate 15 near Willard, Utah, claiming the life of a woman and leaving a man in critical condition following a collision with an SUV. As reported by FOX13, the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed the death that resulted from the Tuesday night crash, though the identity of the victim has yet to be released.
The circumstances leading to this tragic event began when the vehicle, a Prius, collided with a concrete barrier on the highway's left shoulder under adverse weather and roadway conditions as obtained by KSL. This initial impact caused the car to halt, positioning itself sideways outside South Willard, making it a hazard in the path of oncoming traffic.
As detailed by KUTV, the events following the initial crash escalated the situation. After the crash, both occupants of the vehicle opened their doors. While the female passenger remained seated, the male driver exited the car and was subsequently struck by a Ford Expedition. This vehicle then collided with the front passenger side of the now-disabled Prius.
