
A young woman was the victim of an armed hold-up in St. Louis' Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood, according to a release from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident, occurring on the 2900 block of James Cool Papa Bell Avenue, unfolded shortly after 2 p.m. on December 12th. The victim, a 19-year-old woman, reported that an acquaintance of hers threatened her at gunpoint to hand over her cellphone and cash. Following the robber's demands, she safely fled the scene.
Providing the details of the crime, the police indicated that the woman gave the assailant what he asked for and then ran away to escape further harm. Currently, the District 4 detectives are engaged in an investigation, trying to piece together the events and apprehend the suspect. While the victim was not hurt physically, the psychological toll of such an event is seldom visible to the naked eye.
Authorities are reaching out to the public for assistance, hoping that someone with information on this crime might step forward.
