In a recent meeting of the Acworth city council, Taylor Aubrey, the city's Marketing and Communications Manager, was recognized for achieving her Travel Marketing Professional (TMP) certification. Jeff Chase, the Director of Downtown Development, Tourism, and Historic Preservation, took a moment during the November 21 meeting to spotlight Aubrey's accreditation which she earned from the Southeast Tourism Society this past September. The TMP program, according to the city's announcement, spans over three years with courses convening each June at Mercer University in Macon.
Delving into the rigors of the TMP program, Aubrey mastered an array of destination marketing subjects, including Tourism Product Development and Essentials of Tourism Marketing, along with honing her skills in Community & Destination Board Leadership. The curriculum arms participants with a bevy of industry knowledge provided by seasoned professionals. As described by the city, it also required the completion of a two-part project before Aubrey could add TMP after her name.
Coming back to Acworth, Aubrey is now better equipped to infuse her newfound expertise into promoting the city's brand, Visit Acworth. With the goal of painting Acworth as an attractive spot for visitors, the recognition of Aubrey's achievement reflects the city's commitment to professional development and maintaining a distinguished staff.
The City of Acworth expressed its pride in Aubrey's accomplishment. “The City of Acworth values the caliber of our staff and their commitment to continuing education in order to best serve our community and wishes to congratulate Ms. Aubrey on her achievement,” they said, as noted by the city's official website.
