According to the latest updates from the National Weather Service (NWS) San Francisco, Bay Area residents can expect a mix of weather conditions throughout the week. After experiencing cold temperatures with lows in the 30s in interior areas and a Frost Advisory effective through 9 AM Sunday for various counties, the region will face a quick round of rain on Monday. NWS San Francisco forecasts storm total amounts ranging from 0.50-1.50 inches in the higher terrain of the North Bay to less than 0.10 inches across other parts of the region.
Following Monday's rain, the weather is set to dry out, with temperatures climbing into the 60s by midweek and low 70s expected in the interior Central Coast by the end of the week. Warmer weather will be a welcome change after the chilly conditions, but looking ahead, another storm system could bring more wet weather over the next weekend. With the varied weather, the NWS has also issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, effective until 1 PM PST Monday, for certain areas around the bay.
In tandem with the weather service bulletins, NWS Bay Area's Twitter post offered relevant safety advisories for the community. The Flood Watch for the North Bay has been canceled, yet Flood Advisories remain for areas near Santa Rosa and along the Bayshore coast. Residents have been advised to heed remaining road closures and avoid attempting to cross flooded roadways with the reminder: "Turn around, don't drown!"

The aviation industry isn't left out of nature's whims with a mix of LIFR and VFR conditions reported and fog causing some visibility issues earlier, which have since cleared; however, later into the evening, increasing southerly winds and chances for light rain are expected with the approach of a weak cold front. Mariners also need to navigate through changing conditions. Northerly winds continue across most coastal waters, a shift to southerly winds is anticipated throughout Sunday and while waves have started to diminish, small crafts are still advised to exercise caution due to hazardous seas lingering in the area.
