According to CBS12, the matchup features Western Kentucky and James Madison, with enthusiastic fans showing their colors, "We've seen a lot of purple come to town throughout the county and a lot of red too, so get ready for us," Paige Kornblue of ESPN Boca Raton Bowl events informed the outlet.
Festivities kicked off today with a luncheon and pep rally, which included a battle of the bands, spirit squads, and despite the food and drinks on offer the highlight was the palpable excitement for tomorrow's game. Come game day, CBS12 reports a pregame Fan Fest will bring everything from VIP tailgate tents to a Cowboy Circus, all unfolding from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. outside the stadium, Lindy Harvey, executive director of Spirit of Giving, commended the Fan Fest, stating "Linda does a great job of putting on the Fan Fest. It's super fun."
This year's Boca Raton Bowl not only provides a platform for sportsmanship but also serves as a charity effort spearheaded by Spirit of Giving. The organization is making the event accessible for a broad audience by distributing complimentary tickets to nonprofits, youth sports teams, and heroes including military, veterans, and first responders. "We want all these people to be able to enjoy this wonderful bowl game at no cost to them," Harvey told CBS12.
