The search for Mai Sai Vue, an 18-year-old Sacramento resident reported missing since Halloween night, ended in tragedy as her body was located by the Marin County Search and Rescue Team last Thursday near Point San Pedro. Vue's remains were found on the shoreline fronting McNears Beach in San Rafael, an area described as difficult to access by first responders. According to a press release by the Marin County Sheriff's Office, the condition of Vue's body necessitated scientific methods for identification, which attributed to delays in releasing her identity.

Initially, the San Francisco Police Department enlisted the public's assistance to locate the missing teen, last spotted around Grove and Larkin Streets in San Francisco. Described as standing 5'1" and weighing approximately 110 pounds, Vue was recognized by her black hair, brown eyes, and the white dress paired with black leggings and high heels she wore the night she vanished. While the investigation into the cause and manner of death remains ongoing, the Marin County Sheriff's Office - Coroner Division has found "no overt signs of foul play have been detected upon the remains," as stated in the press release from the Marin County Sheriff's Office.
