
A violent altercation inside a Chicago home abruptly ended in gunfire when a 16-year-old boy shot a man as the latter was reportedly assaulting a woman. This incident took place around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, specifically in the 3900 block of West Huron Street, according to local authorities.
Responding to a call of a battery in progress, officers arrived at the scene to find that a teenage boy had shot a 45-year-old man in the lower back, who, before being wounded, was involved in physically attacking a 40-year-old woman inside the residence. The teen, confronting a violent scenario, took drastic action which halted the attack, as mentioned in an article by WGN-TV.
The injured man was subsequently transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Details regarding the relationships between the individuals involved in the incident have not been disclosed.
