After Christmas, Clarksville will turn holiday decorations into an environmental benefit. The City of Clarksville Building & Facilities Maintenance Department - Forestry Division, the Clarksville Tree Board, and CDE Lightband are encouraging residents to recycle their fresh-cut Christmas trees and wreaths at Heritage Park. The recycling program will run from Thursday next week to January 6, as announced by the City of Clarksville.
Trees and wreaths must be undecorated, unbagged, free of any metal backings, and certainly not artificial. The drop-off area will be clearly marked with signage in the parking lot of the park, accessible from dawn until dusk during park hours. These post-holiday contributions will be chipped on-site and repurposed as mulch to enhance downtown landscaping and support newly planted trees.
