A 15-year-old boy from Clarksville has been charged with the shooting death of 18-year-old Ashley Dominguez outside a South Nashville nightclub. The Metro Nashville Police Department announced the arrest, following the incident that occurred on Dec. 1, where witnesses described an argument escalating before gunfire struck a car with five individuals inside, resulting in the tragic death of Dominguez and injuries to two other women, both 19 years of age. The altercation and subsequent shooting happened outside an after-hours club located on Murfreesboro Pike, as reported by WSMV.
The investigation was aided by video footage from a Community Safety Center operator, which helped in developing evidence against Yariel Sandoval, the teen now booked on criminal homicide charges, and detectives are continuing their efforts to assess the involvement of any other potential suspects as the Clarksville police assisted with his apprehension Sandoval was located in his hometown where he was arrested on outstanding warrants, including criminal homicide among other charges. FOX 17 notes that the ongoing investigation seeks to determine if additional individuals were connected to the event.
Dominguez received medical attention at Vanderbilt University Medical Center but succumbed to her injuries and passed away. Meanwhile, the other two victims were treated and subsequently released. Surveillance footage played a crucial role in identifying Sandoval as the primary suspect, which led to his swift arrest; however, The Tennessean indicates that while Sandoval has been charged, he has not yet been charged as an adult.
