A confrontation in a Target parking lot escalated into violence last September, leading to the arrest of a Coral Springs woman, according to police reports. On the afternoon of Sept. 23, a dispute over a near-collision in the parking lot of the Target at 9600 Westview Drive turned into a physical altercation when 50-year-old Jennifer Paras allegedly punched another driver in the face. TAPinto reported that the incident began after the victim honked at Paras, who was on her phone and pulling out of a parking space.
Paras is accused of getting out of her Dodge Ram truck, approaching the victim's car, and delivering the punch through the car’s open driver-side window. Witnesses corroborated the victim’s account, leading to Paras being charged with burglary with assault/battery upon a person. In an interview, one witness told officers she observed Paras confronting the victim before striking her, details that were also confirmed by the victim's daughter, who was in the passenger seat at the time.
Coral Springs Police Department responded to the scene on the day of the incident, where they found the victim with minor injuries to the left side of her face. Following the altercation, Paras was arrested at her home and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. The Coral Springs Talk notes that Paras was later released after posting a $20,000 bond.
