
A Curryville man has died, and two Jefferson City residents have been seriously injured, after a tragic motor accident on U.S. Route 54 in Pike County. According to the report by Fox2Now, the incident occurred slightly before 5 p.m. yesterday, involving a head-on collision between a Ford Explorer traveling eastbound and a Lincoln Town Car headed in the opposite direction.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol's account stated that the Ford Explorer crossed the center of the roadway, colliding with the Lincoln Town Car. The driver of the Lincoln, pronounced dead at the scene, was a 32-year-old man from Curryville. The two men in the Ford, reported as serious with injuries by ambulance services, were traveling back to Jefferson City.
Further details obtained from a local news outlet, First Alert 4, indicate that the driver and the passenger of the Ford, aged 32 and 38 respectively, were taken to the hospital by the Pike County Ambulance District. These individuals, now listed in serious condition, were both using seatbelts at the time of the crash.
On the other hand, details from KRCGTV note the crash report highlighted that the driver of the Lincoln Town Car was not wearing a seatbelt when the Ford Explorer, driven by the Jefferson City men, who had seat belts fastened, crossed the center line and initiated the fatal event.
