The Town of Davie has announced its holiday schedule for municipal offices and various facilities. According to the details provided on the town's official website, the closures are in observance of the Christmas and New Year's holidays. The affected offices and amenities will be closed on specific dates, with altered hours for some facilities.
On Christmas Eve, Tuesday, and Christmas Day, next Wednesday, all Town parks, playgrounds, and restrooms will remain accessible to the public from 9 a.m. to sunset. However, the Pine Island Fitness Center, Pine Island Aquatic Center, and Pine Island Multipurpose Center will not be available, as they will be closed. The Town of Davie website also states municipal offices and park facilities will return to their regular schedule on December 26.
As the New Year approaches, Davie residents will see similar adjustments. On New Year's Eve, facilities such as the Pine Island Fitness Center and Pine Island Aquatic Center will be open but with reduced hours, operating from morning until 5 p.m. The Pine Island Multipurpose Center, meanwhile, will stay closed on this day. The following day, the first of the new year, both the fitness and aquatic centers will open early at 5 a.m., closing at 5 p.m., and, the multipurpose center will remain closed.
Waste services in Davie will also be interrupted during the festivities. There will be no solid waste collection next Wednesday, including bulk and garbage. For those whose trash collection falls on the holiday, service will resume on the next regular day, which will be Saturday, December 28. Additionally, residents in Zone 21 can expect their bulk pickup service, which typically occurs on the fourth Wednesday of the month, to be moved to Monday, December 30.
