A food delivery driver's workday took a dangerous turn at a Bevo Mill White Castle last Friday when he was robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:30 pm, prompting a swift response by officers to the scene at the 4500 block of S. Kingshighway.
The victim, a 40-year-old man, was inside the fast-food chain to pick up an order and, in a risky move, left his car unlocked and the engine running. Upon returning, he found two masked individuals commandeering his vehicle. Confronting the carjackers led to them brandishing handguns and ordering him to keep his distance, before they took off onto Kingshighway, therefore, leaving the delivery driver stranded.
Fortuitously, the stolen car was later discovered that same night in the College Hill Neighborhood. While the vehicle was recovered, the suspects remain at large. Local authorities are keen on tracking down the individuals responsible for this crime and are calling upon the community for assistance.
