
A delivery driver fell victim to a robbery in the Dutchtown area yesterday, according to a report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred in the 3100 block of Keokuk at around 3:30 p.m., when an unidentified man was confronted by an individual as he returned to his delivery van.
The delivery driver explained to police that the perpetrator, described as a younger male dressed in all black, was leaning against the van upon his return. As the driver approached, the suspect allegedly produced a large handgun and proceeded to rob him. The items stolen from the driver included cash and Black & Mild cigars, per a statement released by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Following the altercation, the suspect fled northbound on foot. The delivery driver, fortunately, did not sustain any injuries during the robbery. St. Louis' 3rd District detectives have taken up the investigation and are currently in search of leads to apprehend the suspect involved.
