Yesterday, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue teamed up with Metro-Dade Firefighters Local 1403 and Camillus House to host a toy drive. The "Shop, Drop & Roll with a Firefighter Toy Drive" event found local firefighters and MDFR cadets walking the aisles with families in need, picking out toys for their little ones. This heart-warming event was captured between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
In a release provided by Miami-Dade County advisory, Fire Chief Ray Jadallah says, “Our firefighters are more than just first responders as their commitment to the community extends well beyond the call of duty. They are everyday heroes also spreading joy and cheer during the holiday season.”
Toys collected during "Shop, Drop & Roll with a Firefighter" contribute to the broad-reaching Toys for Kids Toy Drive, accepting donations at all MDFR Fire Stations through December 25. William McAllister IV of Metro-Dade Firefighters echoed this spirit of community in a statement, "It’s a beautiful way to spread joy and compassion this holiday season." Meanwhile, at the helm of Camillus House, CEO Eddie Gloria expressed his gratitude: "We are deeply grateful to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Metro-Dade Firefighters Local 1403, and Walmart for their extraordinary generosity and partnership," as noted by the county's official website. Walmart's role was not just as a venue but also as a benefactor, with the Dade County Association of Firefighter Charities benefiting from the retail giant's grant funding.
