
A serious crash occurred yesterday afternoon on westbound SR-24 in Oakland when a Honda rear-ended a fire engine that was responding to a separate accident near SR-13.
The collision happened at approximately 12:45 PM, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Oakland. The Honda driver sustained major injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A passenger in the Honda and two firefighters at the scene suffered minor injuries and were also transported for medical evaluation.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash and urges witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
