
In a tragic occurrence on the West Side of Chicago, a 20-year-old woman lost her life, and another was injured during an early morning altercation. The incident unfolded in the 5300 block of West Chicago Avenue in the Austin neighborhood. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the confrontation began when the deceased woman approached the other 20-year-old woman around 12:15 a.m., with the interaction quickly escalating into a fight.
Both parties sustained injuries from a sharp object during the struggle. The woman who initiated the approach later succumbed to her injuries at Mount Sinai Hospital, the police said. Meanwhile, the other woman, who also received multiple lacerations to her arm was taken to West Suburban Hospital. She is reportedly in good condition, and, has been placed into custody – as the authorities continue to delve deeper into the overall dynamics of what transpired between these two young lives.
