
A fire inside a Streeterville residential high-rise sent one person to the hospital in serious condition Tuesday evening, triggering a sizable emergency response in the downtown neighborhood. Firefighters located the blaze inside a single apartment unit, officials said.
Firefighters Found Blaze Inside High-Rise Unit
According to ABC7 Chicago, the Chicago Fire Department said the fire broke out in a residential building in the 400 block of East Ohio Street. At least five ambulances were requested, and cameras captured a large emergency response outside the building.
The injured person’s identity and the nature of the injuries were not immediately released. Officials also had not determined how the fire started by early Wednesday.
