The upcoming Christmas holiday schedule will affect Edmond's city services with a brief hiatus in office operations and a slight rejig of the refuse collection timetable. According to an official announcement from the City of Edmond, all municipal offices will close their doors on Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25.
Though the offices are taking a seasonal break, the city has made provisions to ensure that essential services continue to run smoothly. In the spirit of the holiday, trash and recycling collection will proceed without interruption on Christmas Eve. However, for the remainder of the week starting on Christmas Day, residents should prepare to wait one additional day for their refuse to be collected, as reported by the City of Edmond.
Citylink Edmond, the city's bus service provider, has announced that there will be no service on Christmas Day, allowing drivers and transit staff to spend the holiday with their loved ones. Once the holiday cheer has settled, and the wrapping paper disposed of, the City of Edmond's offices will rebound back to business as usual. Normal office hours will resume on Thursday, December 26, ensuring that any interrupted services will not be delayed for long.
