The city has announced that there will be no curbside trash collection, including yard waste and recycling, on December 25. Normally running as usual, the bulk collection service will be delayed until December 30, while curbside recycling and yard waste collections are rescheduled for December 22. The sanitation schedule will continue as usual on January 1, 2025, with no delays for the holiday.
Fort Lauderdale has arranged for a post-holiday cleanup. From January 1 to January 20, 2025, residents can place their ornament-free live Christmas trees on the curb for yard waste collection. The city reminds residents to remove all decorations, including lights, ornaments, and tinsel, as the trees will be recycled rather than sent to a landfill.
