
Six Hendersonville establishments have faced charges by the Hendersonville Police Department for illegally selling alcohol and tobacco to minors, as reported in a sweep conducted on Monday. According to WSMV, the police department carried out compliance checks at 27 businesses and found that a notable six were not adhering to the legal standards required for the lawful sale of such substances to underage individuals.
Each of the errant businesses had at least one individual charged for failing to comply, among them Exxon at 1082 W. Main Street and New Ashes Tobacco Beer Market on Walton Ferry Road. Notably, those charged range from a 20-year-old to a 68-year-old. The HPD thanked businesses that maintained compliance, emphasizing that following the laws helps protect younger residents from early access to alcohol and tobacco, according to WKRN.
According to FOX17, aside from those located on Main Street, the Curtis Crossroads Market and the Shell Gas Station on Indian Lake Boulevard were marked as noncompliant. Others caught in the sweep included Thorton’s Gas Station and Bluegrass Beverages, with those in charge facing consequences for aiding in the infringement of laws meant to shield minors.
