A fire broke out early this morning on Thomas Street near North 25th Avenue in Hollywood. A truck caught fire and the flames quickly spread to a nearby home. According to a report by NBC6, firefighters were called to the 2500 block to combat the blaze that left one home significantly damaged and a truck essentially destroyed.

The situation escalated quickly after the fire's inception around 6 a.m., and despite the Hollywood Fire Rescue team's efforts, the homeowner now faces the loss of both their vehicle and the sanctity of their home. As per information from Local10, the homeowner escaped unharmed, thanks to his cat's alert that something was awry. 

The fire did not cause any injuries to residents or hospital transfers. The response by Hollywood Fire Rescue prevented further harm, though the homeowner's troubles are far from over. Now displaced, they are confronted with the challenge of securing new lodgings, while also gripped with the concern for their missing cat, who fled in the confusion following their initial escape.

Investigations into what sparked this incident continue. Fire rescue crews have not disclosed how the fire started.
