
On Christmas Eve morning, a tragic crash in Kankakee County led to the death of a tow truck driver and serious injuries to his teenage son. According to NBC Chicago, Illinois State Police responded to an accident involving two semis on Illinois Route 17 and Bull Creek Road at approximately 7:06 a.m. The tow truck, owned by Lynwood-based Ray & Wally's Towing, was one of the vehicles involved in the fatal incident.
Ray & Wally's Towing expressed their sorrow on their Facebook page, appealing for prayers for their driver's family, "This is a sad time for our team and the families involved," they said. According to the same post, the driver died on the scene while his 15-year-old son was transported with serious injuries to a hospital. The collision is still under investigation, and it was not immediately clear which driver lost control, leading to this devastating event.
Correspondingly, CBS News reported that one of the trucks rolled over and caught fire post-collision, adding to the severity of the crash. The second driver involved in the head-on crash has not had their condition made public.
