
The festive spirit of the Kannapolis community shined brightly as the winners of this year's Christmas Parade were announced, showcasing local creativity and passion. Competitors participated across four categories: Civic, Church, School, and Band, with entries judged on originality, creativity, and presentation, according to the City of Kannapolis.
The School Category saw the AL Brown JV and Varsity Cheerleaders secure first place, while the Kannapolis City Schools Transportation claimed second, and the AL Brown Women’s Basketball Team impressed enough for third. In the Civic Organization Category, the Oasis Buccaneers sailed to the top spot, followed by the UNC Nutrition Research Institute in second place, and Boogerwoods Haunted Holidays snagging the third position.
When it came to the Church Category, Bethpage Presbyterian earned the judges' top appreciation, with First Presbyterian Church of Kannapolis and Carolina Deliverance taking the second and third places respectively. Music filled the air as the School Band Category celebrated the AL Brown Marching Wonders with first place, the Lake Norman Charter Knight Band marching into second, and Koontz Elementary Marching Band drumming up the third spot. The excitement and pride of all participants were palpable, mirroring the close-knit fabric of Kannapolis' community.
