Lantana Police are actively investigating a drowning after the body of a man was found in the Intracoastal Waterway yesterday. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the 700 block of South Lake Drive around 1:20 p.m. following a 911 call reporting someone face-down in the water. When they arrived, they found a body floating rescue crews found across the shoreline, according to WPTV.
The person, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, as per CBS12. Upon arrival, alongside paramedics declaring the person deceased, Lantana Police commenced their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. They have stated no suspicion of foul play at this time.
Authorities are investigating whether the deceased individual was a local resident of Lantana or if the body had drifted to the location, shared by the WPBF.
