A man has been placed under arrest in association with a shooting incident that took place near a Deerfield Beach pub, causing serious injury to another individual last month. According to a report from Local10, the Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies responded to a call from North Broward Hospital shortly before 3 a.m. on Nov. 2, where they found a man admitted with multiple gunshot wounds. The identity of the hospitalized man was not disclosed.
The investigation led deputies to a silver Honda Accord parked near the 2400 block of Northwest Ninth Street in Pompano Beach. A forensic examination found blood in the car's backseat. The woman who drove the victim to the hospital has not been named, but the car's discovery is a key lead in the case.
Further details have surfaced; a Facebook post from Broward County Mugshots identified the individual taken into custody. Ronial Cherenfant, 30, stands accused of premeditated murder and attempted murder in the first degree. He was arrested by the Fort Lauderdale police on Sunday and is currently being held at the Main Jail with no set bail.
Cherenfant, who stands 6'01" and weighs 235 lbs, has had his profile and charges widely circulated on social media following the arrest. The motive behind the shooting has not been disclosed, but the charges are significant. More details are expected as the investigation and court proceedings unfold.
