
A man was fatally shot on Thursday evening inside The Levee, a bar located on Chicago's Northwest Side. The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. at 4035 W. Fullerton Ave. in the Hermosa neighborhood, as per the Chicago police. The 38-year-old male victim was hit by multiple gunshots and was later pronounced dead after being transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Authorities have yet to apprehend the gunman, who managed to quickly flee the scene. In an ongoing investigation, Area 5 detectives are attempting to fully piece together the sequence of events that led to this seemingly abrupt act of violence and are calling for any witnesses to step forward. According to details released by ABC7 Chicago, no suspects are currently in custody following the shooting and police have not released additional information.
The identity of the slain man has not been made public as officials are possibly working to notify the next of kin. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information has been urged to come forward to aid police in their search for answers.
