A man was rushed to the hospital early Monday morning after a shooting incident occurred at an Oakland Park apartment complex. The Broward Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the case which was reported around 1:41 a.m., at the 4100 block of Northwest 21st Avenue, as confirmed by BSO spokesman Carey Codd and reported by Local 10 News.
Deputies arriving at the scene found the injured man and provided emergency medical treatment until Oakland Park Fire Rescue personnel could transport him to a nearby hospital for further care. The specifics of his condition have not been released yet, however, the area where the incident took place was cordoned off by authorities, and evidence was collected at the scene, including, bags of evidence carried by deputies.
Details surrounding the motive or the identity of the shooter remain unclear, and no description of the suspect has been made available to the public at this stage. The question of whether the man resided at the apartment complex is also yet to be answered. The incident has left local residents troubled, as one neighbor expressed in a statement obtained by WSVN 7News, "I just got home from work just now and this really is a shock to me."
