Early this morning, an altercation at a Pembroke Pines apartment complex turned violent, leaving one man shot and his possessions stolen. The incident occurred at the Advenir at San Tropez apartments, located at 251 NW 78th Terrace. According to Local 10, Pembroke Pines Police Department reported that the victim was outside near an apartment unit when he was approached by an unknown armed Black male.

The confrontation escalated into a physical struggle, during which the gunman fired two shots, hitting the victim once in the torso. Police disclosed that the assailant then seized the victim's belongings and fled, possibly in a car. The victim, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. "Our preliminary investigation indicates that this incident was isolated, and that the victim may have been targeted,” the police department said in an news release, as per Local10.

Meanwhile, a WSVN report mentioned that a significant police presence could be seen at the scene of the crime. Aerial footage from 7Skyforce captured the investigation unfolding, with one car covered by a white tarp which drew the attention of Crime Scene Investigators. Officers were observed meticulously searching for evidence, marking the placement of bullet shell casings, while others conducted door-to-door inquiries, engaging with potential witnesses to construct a narrative of the morning's events.

Authorities have stressed that they consider the shooting an isolated incident and assure there is no larger threat posed to the community. Traffic around the area has remained relatively unaffected, although the parking lot of the complex remained cordoned off as investigations persisted.
