Skaters in Maple Grove have something to look forward to this holiday season, as the Central Park Skating Loop announces its special hours. According to a social media post by the City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government, the skating loop will be open every day throughout the holidays, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's for all to enjoy.
On Christmas Eve, those needing to rent skates can do so from 10 a.m. to noon although the loop itself will remain open until 9 p.m., providing ample time for families and friends to lace up their skates and indulge in this winter pastime after perhaps sharing a festive meal or exchanging gifts; the City of Maple Grove emphasizes, if the warming house is closed, skaters are still welcome to bring their own equipment and take to the ice throughout the day.
While skate rentals will not be available on Christmas Day, the skating loop will maintain its 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. schedule, accommodating those who might wish to glide across the ice as a peaceful respite from the holiday hustle or simply to burn off those extra helpings of Christmas ham and cookie platters.
As for ringing in the New Year, both the skate rentals and the loop will operate from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on December 31 and January 1, offering a unique way to welcome the beginning of 2025, what better way to start the new year than by zipping around the loop under the crisp winter sky setting intentions or making resolutions all while staying active.
