With experience in marketing and event planning at the Marietta History Center, along with regional management in the private sector, Giancola steps into her new role with a strong understanding of what engages the community.
"I am excited to have Jessica in this role leading the museum," Daniel Cummings, Assistant City Manager for Economic and Project Development, exclaimed, lauding her ability to both honor the legacy of the collection and steer the museum towards fruitful evolution, according to the city's announcement. Giancola is stepping in with an eye towards invigorating the museum's outreach, infusing her own passion for history and literature into the museum's approach to education and preservation.
Situated a casual mile from the bustling Marietta Square, the Gone With the Wind Museum has been a cultural fixture since its 2003 opening, housing a rich array of memorabilia related to the storied book and film, as those familiar with its carefully curated displays know well. In 2018, the museum found a new residence at the picturesque Brumby Hall—a structure speaking to antebellum aesthetics with its roots entrenched in the soil of 1851.
