A Miami Beach Police officer has found himself on the wrong side of the law after being accused of domestic battery against the mother of his child. According to NBC Miami, Jonathan Noel Blanco, 30, was relieved of duty following his arrest in Homestead, where he allegedly pushed his girlfriend during a dispute, resulting in her sustaining an injury.

It was during an argument on Friday last week when Blanco, who had been with the department since 2019, reportedly caused the mother of his child to fall and cut her left forearm. After fleeing the scene, Blanco surrendered the following day at a station, as indicated by jail records showing him facing one count of battery with domestic violence.

Local 10 News obtained the arrest report, which includes the victim's statement. She reported that Blanco pushed her into a door frame before fleeing. The Homestead Police Department is leading the investigation, and MBPD officer Christopher Bess confirmed that "Blanco has been relieved of duty in accordance with departmental policy, pending the outcome of an investigation led by the Homestead Police Department."
