A somber discovery along Interstate 95 has law enforcement officials piecing together the details of a 22-year-old woman's death. The Miami-Dade Police Department, assisted by Florida Highway Patrol troopers, responded to a call on Saturday morning at around 6 a.m. about an argument near the Ives Dairy Road ramp where they found the body of Nahomi Cittadini, confirmed Local 10. Officials have subsequently named Lorent Pion, a 29-year-old convicted felon, as a person of interest in the case, although he has not yet been charged in connection with her death.
Pion was taken into custody following a chase from Miami-Dade County to the area of Red Road and Miramar Parkway, where he was arrested by Miramar Police under several charges, among them are aggravated fleeing with injury or damage and failure to stop at an accident involving non-serious injury; the pursuit ended in a crash involving multiple vehicles, including one carrying a mother, her infant child, and Gigi Dimanche, who recounted, "It was our light actually, and he hit us from the side and he ran off," in an NBC Miami interview, as shared by Hoodline.
Detectives investigating the death of Cittadini noted the particular circumstance of her being found undressed with clothing lying next to her body, with Miami-Dade Police Detective Luis Sierra saying, "There is a piece of clothing next to here, so I wouldn't be able to tell you how exactly her clothes were removed, but there is some clothing next to her body," as noted in a report by WSVN. The nature of the injuries has yet to be determined, as the investigation continues into what is being treated as a homicide.
The Miami-Dade Police Department has emphasized the importance of community assistance in this ongoing investigation, urging anyone with information to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS, where callers have the opportunity to remain anonymous and may qualify for a reward of up to $5,000.
