A Norridge man has been slapped with serious felony charges for allegedly disseminating and possessing child pornography, with Sheriff Thomas J. Dart of Cook County announcing the grim development. Richard Corcino, 47, from the 8100 block of West Strong Street, has found himself at the center of a disturbing case kickstarted by a tip to the ICAC Unit from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children this past August. The tip pointed to a social media app user accused of sharing over a dozen files that contained deplorable Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
Following an extensive investigation by the ICAC Unit, a search warrant was executed for a concerning social media account, ultimately linked to Corcino. Corcino was taken into custody last Tuesday, and investigators recovered a mobile device in his possession. A subsequent search of his residence uncovered a second phone connected to the case. According to the Cook County Sheriff's Office, Corcino, after being read his Miranda rights, admitted to using both devices to access the illicit content.
A forensic analysis performed on both phones would unearth a horde of videos, harrowingly showcasing sexual abuse involving victims, many under the age of 13. In the wake of these findings, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office has decided to proceed with charges: one for Dissemination of Child Pornography—a Class X Felony, and another for Possession of Child Pornography—a Class 2 Felony. Appearing at the Skokie Courthouse for his initial hearing, Corcino was given the green light to be released until his next court date, slated for January 17, 2025.
Since 2020, the ICAC Unit's efforts have led to charges against 51 individuals tied up in child pornography and child victimization cases.
