A 46-year-old woman, identified by her family as Patricia Marse, has died following a car crash on Saturday caused by a man suspected of driving under the influence in southwest Oklahoma City. The collision followed a police pursuit that began after Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD) responded to calls about a disturbance involving the suspect near Southwest 28th Street and Miller Avenue, KOCO 5 reported.

According to witnesses, the man was seen driving recklessly and performing donuts in the street before officers arrived to intervene. As police attempted to approach him, he chose to quickly drive away, initiating a chase that concluded with his gray Chrysler 300 rear-ending Marse's vehicle on Southwest 29th Street, as News 4 reported. The violent impact caused the vehicle to roll over and threw Marse from her car, leading to the injuries that proved fatal.

Local resident Timothy Greb told News 4, “A lot of people like to race through here, especially Friday and Saturday evenings. That’s where a lot of the crashes do happen.”

The suspect was apprehended immediately after to be crash and is expected to face multiple charges, including DUI, according to reports by News on 6. OCPD has not disclosed the suspect's name but confirmed that the investigation is continuing.
