
A shooting in SW Miami-Dade left one dead and another critically injured near a Wawa gas station, according to local authorities. Police responded at 9 p.m. yesterday to reports of gunfire at Southwest 122nd Avenue and 248th Street, but initially, no victims were found at the gas station.
As outlined by CBS News, the situation escalated when a car with two victims arrived at the gas station. A good Samaritan alerted police, and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced one victim dead at the scene. The other was quickly taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Detective Andrew Martin said that officers are actively searching for the shooter(s), but leads are limited.
Meanwhile, information regarding what preceded the violent event remains scant. Authorities have withheld the identities of the victims, according to NBC Miami.
