
Yesterday, a house fire in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, displaced one person and resulted in the rescue of a cat. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, firefighters responded to the scene at around 12:28 p.m. in the 1000 block of Brighton Cove Trail NE, where flames were spreading from the garage to the attic. Crews were able to control the fire within 30 minutes.
The fire led to a search that resulted in the rescue of a cat from a back bedroom. Firefighters used a pet oxygen mask to treat the animal, which is expected to recover. According to Atlanta News First, the fire is believed to have started near a garbage can in the garage, but the exact cause is still under investigation.
The blaze caused significant damage, especially to the garage and attic areas of the house. One occupant has been reported as displaced due to the fire, and support is being offered by the American Red Cross. No injuries were reported.
