The Park West Metromover Station will close on January 6 for an estimated six months for renovations aimed at improving the station and the overall travel experience.
According to the Miami-Dade County release, during the closure, Metromover cars will bypass Park West Station. However, Freedom Tower and Eleventh Street stations are nearby, just a three-minute walk away, providing alternative access to popular destinations like the Kaseya Center.
The renovations are part of the Miami World Center project. The updates include new tiles, upgraded entryways with canopies, improved escalators, contemporary seating, and energy-efficient lighting. The station will also undergo structural improvements, including painting and sealing the concrete walls and ceiling. Miami-Dade officials believe these upgrades will create a safer and more connected community.
While the closure may be inconvenient, Miami-Dade asks for patience during the renovation process and assures the public that the upgrades will improve the local transit experience.
